This week I was able to use my own products (Brushes, overlays and edges) to create my papers and that was very exciting for me!!!! If you haven't seen my CU items you can find them in my Southern Comfort Scraps Store
So this is what I came up with for week 3. The theme was Stay-cation.
This week I chose to create an Art Journal Kit instead of a traditional scrap kit. We had to pick a place that was close to us as inspiration. Well we just bought a small farm this year. My husband just retired from the Army after 23 years and we were finally able to buy a place and settle down in one place! So and anyone who buys a house knows that for a while after you buy, you aren't going on many vacations!!! So this kit is not only ABOUT our farm it IS our farm!!
Most of the elements from this kit I photographed, extracted and altered from places around my farm. (except for the chickens...they are from graphics fairy but I did extract and alter!! My chickens wouldnt hold still and cooperate!!) With the papers you will see one that has the wood from my chicken coop, another is my silo, one is of my pond with the field behind it, my barn door and some greenery in the back yard. With the elements you will find a bird house that is on my chicken coop, a light from the barn, a milk jug that is on my back stairs, the frame is made with the wood from my chicken coop and the flowers are all from my garden. Everything else is brushes, overlays and edges that I hand painted myself.
This Art Journal Kit really turned into a labor of love and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it.
So I didn't stop there, I ended up with an add on. These items not so much from my farm but I don't know, doesn't every farm need an ostrich?? So here is my add on
Don't forget to go and LIKE us on Facebook!! I have a Fall Themed FREEBIE on there AND don't forget to look a little lower on my blog for the Scrapping Your Heart Out Blog Train portion!!!
